30 Day Summer Organizing Challenge
In the spirit of keeping people motivated to organize this summer, I’ve created a 30 day summer organizing challenge.
The idea came to me as was looking at my 10 year olds “hoarder-ish” room and told her that the week we get back from vacation, it is getting sBo’d (aka: de-cluttered and organized!) Creating a checklist with daily challenges is an easy way to keep her motivated and on-task.
Each activity is simple, quick and requires minimal supervision. The challenges range from donating 10 stuffed animals, to unloading the dishwasher.
The goal is to teach 3 things:
- Independence
- Accountability
- Responsibility
I’ve decided to share it with all of you so you can join along with Logan. Although I’ve geared the tasks to school age kids, anyone can participate; simply substitute any event that does not apply to something more appropriate. (For example, sort the mail, recycle old magazines, etc).
The point is to do something every day.
I’d love to see your progress (and so would Logan!), so feel free to comment and share your story. I look forward to hearing from you in 30 days.
You can download the Checklist here.
Happy Organizing!
