If your house is like mine, mornings and bedtimes are stressful. Ensuring everyone is dressed, groomed, fed and out the door without forgetting something is no easy task.
Bedtimes are not much better, especially since evening activities end later and later. Once my kids are finally out the door or in bed, I can breathe a brief sigh of relief, only to realize that in a few short hours it will be groundhogs day and we will repeat the same pattern of chaos.
Yelling like a lunatic to make sure they brush their teeth or make their bed not the way I want to parent.
It’s stressful. It’s exhausting.
So last year, I vowed to put an end to it once and for all. I created what I call “A Responsibility Checklist”. We all have responsibilities in our family and in life. As my kids grow and mature their list of responsibilities grow too.
The Responsibility Checklist is a way for my kids to know what’s expected of them so I don’t have to repeat myself like a broken record (yes, that phrase dates me, I know!)
I implemented it last year and it was a game-changer.
