Episode 269: Creating a Legacy List with Matt Paxton
Hi Friends,
Joining me today is one of the top cleaning, downsizing, decluttering, and hoarding experts in the country, Matt Paxton. Some of you may know him as the host of the Emmy-nominated PBS show Legacy List with Matt Paxton, or from the 12 years he spent helping people on A&E’s Hoarders. I invited Matt to come on TOL to talk about his new book, Keep the Memories, Lose the Stuff which comes out next week.
We talk candidly about his life, career, and moving from Virginia to Atlanta where he currently lives with his wife and their SEVEN kids.
During our conversation we talked about:
- How to develop a Legacy List and why it’s important
- The value of telling (and listening) to personal stories while decluttering
- How Peter Walsh turning down a job ended him on Hoarders
This is an honest conversation, filled with hope, grace and a wealth of compassion. I talk to a lot of professionals in this industry, and each time, I learn something new.
I encourage you to listen (or watch) this episode and then pay it forward by sharing it with your people because you never know who needs to hear some words of encouragement.
Make sure to check out the links below for everything we talked about, including Matt’s new book, Keep the Memories, Lose the Stuff !
