About Us
Hi there, I’m Laurie Palau!
I’m married to my husband Josh who I have known for more than half my life (which is still crazy to me even as I write this). Together we have two almost-grown daughters, and we live in a little river town midway between New York City & Philadelphia.
Other important things you should know about me: I love coffee, Tito’s vodka, dogs, and true crime podcasts. I am a self-described homebody, who is happiest when my hair is in a messy bun on top of my head, and I don’t have to wear make-up. If you are a personality-type junkie like me, I am an ENTJ, an Upholder, and an Enneagram 8. That means I’m the “take-charge, get it done, tell-it-like-it-is” friend in the group (often misconstrued as bossy, know-it-all, or confrontational).
Now to the professional stuff…
I am the founder of Simply B Organized (SBO) where I write, teach, and work with people of all ages helping them to declutter and work smarter. I also host This ORGANIZED Life, a weekly podcast where I chat with awesome guests about life, work, parenting, and the role that organization has in their lives.
When I started my business in 2009, I was a busy working mom with two little kids and a husband who traveled 80% of the time. I could relate to many of the struggles and demands that life throws our way. I realized that sharing my experiences and offering simple & practical solutions, it may help others who were unable to see the forest through the trees.
It’s not about the bins.
I’ve always said that disorganization goes deeper than piles of paper on the counter, dishes in the sink, or an overflowing closet. Clutter is merely a symptom of a bigger issue — resulting in feelings of shame, anxiety, stress, and an overall lack of control.
The longer I worked with people, the more I recognized that it wasn’t enough to tell people what to buy, or how to do something, because what works for one person may not work for someone else. Taking things a step further, I began researching WHY certain people struggle with clutter while others are naturally organized.
Motivation and behavior became recurring themes in my work, so I began taking a deeper dive into the link between clutter and the Enneagram.

I hope you stick around so we can get to know one another!
